Finally got around to fixing the news system. Following the various server changes ages ago the configuration was affected and new news stories couldn't be posted. This has now been fixed and the style of the news pages has been altered slightly due to changes at the Blogger service.
Posted a news story for the first time in absolutely ages!

Fixed a couple of bits and pieces on the site which have been broken ever since the change of server. The links form, guestbook etc are all now working again.

Where should I start?!? -
Unfortunately the site recently had to move to a new server due to a
problem with the one it was on previously. This meant that the site was
down completely for a couple of days at the beginning of June.
The change of server meant that some parts of the site had to be
reconfigured (feedback forms etc) and it also meant that all of the
user/message data on the message board was lost. Also as a side-effect
it meant that we also lost the mailing list!
I got the main part of the site going again quite quickly (except
message board and mailing list). I started installing a new version of
the message board in order to get it started again from scratch. Almost
as soon as I had installed it the server was hacked into and a 'Denial
Of Service' attack was launched on it - which meant the loss of the new
board and more down-time!
I will hopefully get everything up and running again at some point...
but I can't promise when it will be!!!

I just noticed a bug with the greetings card system on the site (a bug which must have been there for a while!)... this resulted in your chosen image not being shown while you were composing your card. I have tracked down the problem with the code and have bug-fixed it.

The feedback and link submission forms on the site may have been unavailable for a short while due to a software update being required. This has now been carried out and the forms should now be working again.

Added a new collection of eight desktop wallpapers - thanks very much to Lizzy!!
Redesigned the desktop wallpaper section of the site... changed the navigation to a much simpler 'drop down menu' system and redesigned the graphics.

It looks as if the server is having a few problems this evening... pages/features which use scripting (such as the messageboard, greeting cards and forms) seem to be the worst affected (lots of '500 Internal Server Error' messages). Hopefully it will be resolved soon.

I've altered the 'Event calendar' feature on the site... it now uses a different system which is integrated with the site's message board system.

Moved the final set of video stills from the 'Tripod' server onto the main Corrnucopia server (it's not taken me too long to get around to doing this.... honest!)
Removed some old entries from the 'Updates' page.
Made some slight design and code alterations.

Sharon's profile updated to include her wedding.
Changed the way the news page works... rather
than showing all of the previous news posts on a single page, the three
newest news stories are listed - with a link to a 'news archive' which
contains all the previous articles (split into month long blocks).
This will reduce loading times as the news archive grows.

I've added an Irish article about Sharon's wedding to the articles section of the site. Thanks to Hazel who sent me the newspaper it's from ages ago... sorry it's taken me so long to get around to transcribing it! - more to come....

I have now removed the news/information about the US terrorist attacks from the front of the site.

Following the terrible events
in America yesterday, I have temporarily added an information system to
the front page of this site. The system will feature 'real-time' news
updates from the US and more importantly provides links which may be of
use to people who need to try and contact relatives or friends who may
have been affected by the tragedies. It also includes details of phone
numbers which American and UK citizens can call if they'd like to
donate blood.
Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by these events.

New feature! - added a '3D Heading Generator' to the multimedia section. Click the link and have a play with it....
Netscape v6.1 seems to have major problems understanding which frames content should end up in. I have changed all the html in the Netscape friendly menu system to take this in to account..... (I'm confident that my html was correct in the first place and that there is a bug in the latest version of Netscape).

A very slight bug fix.... some of you may possibly have had a 'file not found' error when trying to get to the sliding block puzzle. Nobody has reported any problems, but I spotted an anomaly in the server log which pointed towards a problem with the puzzle page. Hopefully it's fixed now!

There is now a new web greetings card system running on the site. I still need to add some more cards to it and tidy up some of the code, but it's good enough to start using! - if you have any problems with it please email me!

A couple of minor changes to
the site....
- The message board will now expand to fill the whole browser window
rather than having the site's menu bar down the left side of the
window. This aids readability.... to return to the main site, simply
use the 'Return to Corrnucopia' link at the top of the board.
- Finally changed the background colour of the sub-menus in the menu
bar.... now a lighter colour - and are easier to read.
- Changed the MTV banner on the front page - now smaller, less
obtrusive.... and loads faster!
- Different design for the counter... blends better with the current
colour scheme.

To this end I have made the following policy decisions which apply to the Corrnucopia site regarding this occasion.
- No articles or news stories which reveal the date, time or location of the wedding will be uploaded onto the site during the run up to the event.
- Following the wedding, no articles which contain hearsay about the wedding or feature photographs which have obviously been taken by 'snooping' photographers will be used on this site.
I
realise that if someone is keen enough to want to find out about the
wedding with an aim of being there - they are going to find out the
information they need one way or another. However I'd like to think
that if people do turn up on the day uninvited - this site did not give
them the information they needed to be able to do so.
Added a couple of new links to the links page.
Changed the design of the front page banner.
